Research Interests

I am interested in lateral gene transfer in bacterial. Lateral gene transfer is a process by which genes are transferred across species instead of being inherited from the ancestor. It occurs by mechanisms such as conjugation, transformation and transduction. It plays an important role in the evolution of prokaryotes.

I am studying lateral gene transfer by computation methods. My research will improve our understanding of the process and mechanisms of lateral gene transfer and their significance in the evolution of prokaryotic genomes.
