Postdoc Position: Social Insect Biology in the Smith Bee Lab at Auburn University (broad search) Position Description. Research Areas: collective behavior, nest architecture, spatial organization, social physiology, or any complementary research area. Members of the Smith Bee Lab are encouraged to develop their own research program within the broad framework of social physiology and colony function. Prior experience working with honey bees is not required - we are actively seeking researchers with complementary skills to join our group, as long as they have a strong interest in the underlying biological concepts. Projects looking to develop methods, analytical tools, or make use of our existing datasets are of particular interest (e.g., 3-dimensional spatial organization of the nest). Postdoc position has a flexible start-date, but could be as soon as Spring 2026, and is available for up to 4-years, contingent on satisfactory performance. Postdoctoral candidates should have a PhD in any of the following: biology, computer science, data science, engineering, physics, statistics, or a related field.
