Postdoctoral position in the Unckless Lab at the University of Kansas The Unckless lab at the University of Kansas invites applications for a postdoctoral position that will focus on the evolution of immune defense in Drosophila. We will use multiple techniques including genetic mapping, RNA-sequencing, and Drosophila genetics to better understand how species differ in their ability to fight infection. The successful candidate should have experience in genomic analysis, Drosophila genetics or immunology and would be able to develop skills in some of the other approaches. The Unckless Lab studies evolutionary genetics in general with a focus on the evolution of immunity and selfish genetic elements (meiotic drive). The University of Kansas is home to both the Department of Molecular Biosciences and the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and members of the lab interact directly with other labs spanning biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, genomics, evolution and ecology.
