Area of Research: Ecology and/or Evolution Description of duties: We encourage applications from highly motivated postdoctoral fellows with broad interests in ecology and evolutionary biology. The Fellow may collaborate with a single or multiple advisors on research in ecology and evolution. We seek candidates who propose innovative and independent research programs. Given this independence, there will be access to a small research supplement to support the successful candidate's research. To facilitate interactions within the department, the Fellow will organize a workshop on a topic related to the Fellow's interest for graduate students, postdocs and faculty. Genomic analyses are supported by a number of high-performance computing resources, multi-lab bioinformaticians, as well as staff at the Centre for the Analysis of Genome Evolution and Function. The department houses excellent research facilities, including growth facilities for a variety of organisms. The normal hours of work are 40 hours per week for a full-time postdoctoral fellow recognizing that the needs of the employee's research and training may require flexibility in the performance of the employee's duties and hours of work.
