Dear all, We are happy to announce the Physalia online course "Introduction to Deep Learning for Biologists", which will take place from 3-7 November. More information and registration details are available on our website: ( https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/course67/ ) The course will provide both the theoretical background and practical training needed to develop deep learning models for biological data. We will focus on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and their applications in classification, regression, and image segmentation. Alongside this, we will also cover key concepts such as performance evaluation, cross-validation, overfitting, and model generalizability. Each day will include lectures, discussions, and hands-on sessions using Python. This course is aimed at researchers and students in biology who want to understand and apply deep learning methods to their own data. No prior experience in deep learning is required, though some familiarity with Python will be helpful.
