Master's Students Positions: Genetics and origins of rare plants, Cal Poly Humboldt Two Master's positions are available to study rare species in the California Floristic Province as part of an NSF-sponsored project Requisites: - Have a B.Sc. in Biology, Botany, or a related field - Have taken classes in genetics, evolution, and plant diversity (although some of these classes can be taken during the Master's program) - Strong interest in learning bioinformatics (Students are expected to take Phylogenetic Systematics and Bioinformatics during the program) Additional information: - Partial financial support is available - Our research group is committed to diversity, students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply - Each student will study a focal rare species??" collecting it, sequencing its DNA, analyzing the data, and writing a scientific paper. - Students are expected to work independently with the support of the lab members.
