The Manthey research group in the Department of Biological Sciences at
Texas Tech University is recruiting 1-2 PhD students to work on funded
genomics projects beginning Fall 2025. Funding for accepted students
includes tuition sponsorship and an ~$30k annual stipend through combined
grant and departmental funding.

We currently have openings for funded projects in two categories: (1)
population and landscape genomics in carpenter ants, and (2) genome
evolution (birds, ants, etc.). Graduate students would be encouraged to
develop their own projects under these broad themes. For more information
