The Alberta Government is looking for a conservation geneticist! Reporting to the Provincial Recovery Specialist, the Conservation Geneticist is responsible for the development and application of advanced genetic tools to recover and manage the three native trout species at risk in Alberta, Bull Trout, Athabasca Rainbow Trout and Westslope Cutthroat Trout, through the Native Trout Recovery Program. The Native Trout Recovery program is involved in assessing the genetic characteristics of trout populations, understanding potential risks to current and future genetic integrity and assessing potential management options.
