The Chicago Botanic Garden is now accepting applications for the 2026 Plant Biology & Conservation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. This full-time, 10-week NSF-funded summer program provides undergraduates with hands-on research experience in plant biology and conservation, with projects spanning topics from genetics to ecosystems. The program includes a $7,000 stipend, travel assistance, and housing during required on-site weeks. The program runs from June 15-August 21, 2026, and may begin with a virtual first week. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and currently enrolled undergraduate students. We particularly encourage applications from early-stage undergraduates and students from institutions with limited research opportunities.
